# EOL Windows driver support for older CPUs w/o POPCNT

:nvidia: NVIDIA published an article June 2024 regarding Windows hardware compatibility going forward. Starting with NVIDIA driver version `R555+` with an incompatible CPU will result in blue screen of death (BSOD). Most CPUs since 2007/2008 include support for `POPCNT` and would not be impacted. If you have a CPU older than 2008, on Windows, and plan on updating a currently support NVIDIA GPU, this could impact you (see the article linked above), otherwise it shouldn’t be a major concern.

Ah yes, GPUs on Windows, my favorite bug-report generating combination on the Ultralytics repo.
