I’m an old Englishman who took part in a long forgotten Robotic Pingpong competition that ran from 1985 to 1993. My Robat came second to a Swiss machine in Hongkong and we achieved the first rally. That is he hit the ball once and my machine hit it twice. It got a big round of applause. My Machine used a mechanical vision system, a 286 intel processor and an oversized X Y plotter to move the bat around.
